Indoor Dining Closed in NYC: No Watch Parties for 2 Weeks

On Friday, December 11th, Governor Cuomo announced indoor dining in NYC will close for a yet to be determined time, due to the rising infection rate of COVID-19.

Combined with the 10pm curfew for outdoor dining, we have no other choice but to cancel our next two Cleveland Browns watch parties as they are both night games:

  • Monday, Dec 12 vs the Ravens
  • Sunday, Dec 20 vs the Giants

We will resume outdoor watch parties, in our beautiful & heated setup provided by The Liberty, for the games thereafter:

  • Sunday, Dec 27 vs the Jets
  • Sunday, Jan 3 vs the Steelers
  • Knock on wood… a playoff game or two

As soon as the indoor dining ban is lifted, we’ll be back to normal with lots of socially-distance seating options inside.

Hopefully that will occur in time for the Jets game, but either way we’ll be holding down our own version of the Muni Lot here in NYC.

Be sure to follow us on FacebookInstagram and Twitter to keep up with the latest updates.

GO BROWNS!

10 things you need to know about the Big Apple Browns Backers of NYC

2022 will be the 12th year for the Big Apple Browns Backers, the ONLY Cleveland Browns Backer location in New York City and arguably the rowdiest chapter in the entire country.

We’re a crazy bunch and like our CLE sports misery mixed with a healthy dose of alcohol and tomfoolery.

We’ve worked hard to build an amazing community of Cleveland fans living in NYC and pride ourselves on welcoming all Browns fans into our flock.

Visiting the Big Apple for the weekend? Cleveland-native that recently moved to NYC? Please JOIN US for one of our watch parties!

We’ve got a massive & gorgeous viewing site located at The Liberty bar, with lots food & drink specials and a dedicated wait-staff.

Here are the 10 Commandments of the Big Apple Browns Backers in NYC:

  1. We only show the Browns game.
  2. Be nice to your bartenders & wait-staff and remember to tip with appreciation.
  3. No reservations. First come, first seated. We believe in communal / lunch-room seating. Get friendly.
  4. Seating begins 90 minutes before kick-off (ie, 11:30 am for a 1pm game).
  5. This is our church: treat the bar, it’s staff and other fans with respect.
  6. NO FANS FROM TEAMS WE’RE PLAYING THAT WEEK! If for some stupid reason you’re rooting for our opponent, or wearing their gear, you will NOT BE PERMITTED to watch the game (this counts for any friends or significant others that Browns fans might bring).
  7. NO STEELERS FANS! They are strictly prohibited and will be mocked relentlessly.
  8. If you refuse a free shot by the Shot Penguin an angel loses its wings.
  9. Please be smart & safe.
  10. And most importantly, always remember: THIS IS OUR YEAR!

Big Apple Browns T-Shirts, Hoodies, Sweatshirts & Tanks: Buy Online!

Tshirts for Big Apple Browns Backers of NYC

For the first time ever, you can now buy our Big Apple Browns Backers t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts & tank-tops online!

We priced these shirts with as little margin as possible to keep them friendly on your wallet. Any profit we make will be donated to an animal rescue organization located here in New York City  — last season, we donated over $2,300, raised from the charity auction at our Jets welcome party.

Another reason for the move online is to ensure we’re being as safe as possible with the ongoing COVID-19 situation. No more digging through a box of t-shirts at the bar to find the right size & color. These items are printed-on-demand and shipped directly to you.

Right now, we’ve got a bunch of styles in various colors:

What are you waiting for? Buy them for yourself, your family or that special-someone you’re trying to trick into becoming a Brown’s fan.
